Mechanic System
GearHead Customs, the mechanic job, tuning, repairs and servicing, and how to build new mechanic shops.
What it is
The mechanic shop on the server is GearHead Customs in Davis, south Los Santos. Customers order paint, wheels, performance and cosmetic work; mechanics install it, repair and service cars, swap engines, fit turbos and nitrous, and run the shop from a tablet. Admins can build more shops in game with the mechanic creator.
The parts
- Create a Location: build a new mechanic shop from zero with
/mechaniccreator. - Customers: driving into a bay and ordering work.
- Mechanics & Tablet: the job, the tablet, work orders, parts, servicing, nitrous and lifts.
- Self-Service Shops: shops where anyone pays and gets the work at once.
Two kinds of shop
| Kind | How it works | On this server |
|---|---|---|
| Owned | Run by a job. Customers place an order and pay; mechanics install it. Staff use lifts, counters, stashes and the tablet. | GearHead Customs (job mechanic) |
| Self-service | Anyone drives in, pays and gets the mods at once. | None (Benny's and LS Customs are switched off) |
Mechanic shop doors are not locked out of the box. Create them in game with the doorlock menu (/doorlock, staff only). See Doorlock System and the official ox_doorlock guide.
