Social & Adverts
Chirp, the city's social network, and the Advertisements app.
What it is
Chirp is the city's social network: post short messages with photos, follow people, reply, like and use @mentions and #hashtags. Advertisements is a board where each player can post one advert for everyone to see.
How it works
Chirp
- Chirp is not on a new phone. Open the Store and get it (see Settings & Store).
- Make an account with a username and password inside the app. One character can have up to 3 accounts.
- Post (up to 280 characters), reply, repost, like and bookmark. When someone posts, everyone with the app gets a banner.
- If someone @mentions you, you get a notification.
Advertisements
- Open Advertisements and write your advert (up to 500 characters). You can add a photo link.
- Everyone with a phone sees it, with your name and number. Each player has one advert at a time; posting again replaces it, and you can delete it.
- Adverts are free and stay until the server restarts.

Admin Quick Test
You need a second player with a phone (/giveitem <id> phone 1).
Setup
- Type
/giveitem me phone 1and press F1.
Stage 1: Chirp
- Open Store, find Chirp and get it. The icon appears on the home screen.
- Open Chirp, make an account (username and password) and sign in.
- Post "Hello city". The second player (with Chirp installed) gets a banner and sees the post in the feed.
- Post again within 10 seconds. It is refused until the wait is over.
- Ask the second player to post "@yourname hi". You get a "You were mentioned" notification.
Stage 2: Advertisements
- Open Advertisements and post "Selling a Sultan, call me". Every player with a phone sees it with your number.
- Post a second advert straight away. You see "Wait a moment before posting another advert" (30 s wait).
- Delete your advert. It disappears for everyone.
The end. Posts and adverts reach every player; mentions notify the right player.
If it doesn't work: Chirp is not installed from the Store, the wrong password was typed too often (sign-in pauses for 60 s), or the wait between posts has not passed.
